Before You Begin Measuring, Consider the Following:

• Centre-Open Curtains:
  Given the functionality of sliding doors, centre-open sheer curtains are often the most practical choice, allowing easy access while maintaining aesthetics.
• Maximise Dimensions:
  A ceiling mount is ideal if your room size is standard, as it offers a luxurious look and ensures optimal light control. If a ceiling mount isn’t feasible, aim to position the curtain as high as possible above the sliding door to achieve a similar effect.

1. Measuring the Width:

• Beyond the Door:
  Decide if you’d like the track width to extend beyond the door width. This choice ensures your curtain stack can be positioned past the sliding door when drawn, enhancing functionality. Typically, the curtain stack occupies about a third of the total curtain width. To ensure your curtains stack neatly to the edge of the door, add approximately 30% to this width.
  • Example: If your sliding door width is 2000mm, add 30% (600mm) for a total track width of 2600mm.
• Wall-to-Wall or Ceiling-to-Ceiling:
  Depending on your chosen mount, measure the exact distance between the two walls or from one point of the ceiling to the opposite. Deduct around 20mm for clearance to ensure smooth operation.

2. Measuring the Drop:

• From Mount to Floor:
  The drop measurement starts from the top of the track’s mounting point to the floor. If you opt for a ceiling mount, measure from the ceiling to the floor. If you mount above the sliding door, measure from the chosen mounting point down to the floor.
• Maximise Height: Aim to position the curtain as high as possible. Ideally, the curtain bracket should be placed directly beneath the cornice.

3. General Tips:

• Measurement Units:  Always measure in millimetres (mm).
  Measure each wall individually, even if they seem identical.
